Maasai Mara 2012

This was suppose to be a couple of photos but its's very hard to choose 10 or 20 pictures when you spend a week in a place like this and in the end you have more than 1000 photos.

The first time we stopped after Nairobi was in this place where we could see everything around us. On the other side the wall was all covered with draws of animals.. and really well done..

This is now a church but in the past this was a place where the Italian slaves were working. Now it's a sacred place...

Before we arrived to the park we saw a lot of kids on the road playing and all of them so happy to see people and it was a good chance to ask for cookies and candy.. Things that we not even care and for this kids a big thing, huge actually.

After arriving to the park we started seeing animals right away..

We passed the lions and they were sleeping so quiet that we almost didn't saw them...

The beautiful sunset in Maasai Mara

We had a big group of giraffes just in front of us.. and very near.. was amazing to have this creatures so near..

Like the driver explained to us.. this couple has in honey-moon and everywhere they moved together.. and believe me that he is the kind. Nobody messes with him.

We saw such amazing birds... birds that i never imagined.

Finally Zebras!! and i love zebras..

If you are wondering what is this yes, you are right. this is the claws of the leopard  to climb the tree.. and most of the times they climb with food. They keep the food in the tree to avoid other animals eating their food.

I don't know why but all the Buffalo that we saw were hiding in trees...

This is the most difficult animal to see.. the leopard and the rhino and we saw both of them... lucky, very lucky.

The baby elephant and the mother.. I almost brought him with me... :(

If you have doubts about doing a safari, probably you are thinking now that your next trip must be to Kenya/Tanzania, it's amazing that even if you don't feel like waking up at 7 to see animals, when you arrive here you will feel like even not sleeping. And there is never 2 safaris the same.. It was amazing this safari, maybe the one I liked the most, the driver was superb and one of the most intelligent man I ever met. A experience to repeat, hopefully this year and with the same driver.
